Coffee at CMU · CMU Dining

Local coffee.Real people.

The coffee you drink on campus comes from local Pittsburgh roasters and cafés, and from the farmers who grow it. Meet the people behind your cup.

Why local matters

Grown, roasted,poured by people.

Quality coffee depends on people at every step of the way. When CMU buys from local roasters, we can know who those people are.

Every step

The people behindyour cup.

  1. 01

    Growers

Farmers and co-ops grow, pick, and process the coffee. Fair prices let them invest in their farms and their communities.

  2. 02

    Roasters

Pittsburgh roasters buy green coffee, often directly from producers, and roast it close to campus.

  3. 03

    Baristas

Baristas on campus turn all of that work into your drink. Many of them are students too.
